Work out what the factory display already occupies

Newer machines come with a screen in the best spot in the cab. Bobcat offers a seven inch touchscreen on its R-Series loaders, and it is integrated with the rearview camera, which means it is not something you would remove.

Measure what is left before you buy a mount. The usable space in these cabs is smaller than it looks.

Vibration is worse on tracks

A tracked machine transmits more vibration into the cab than a wheeled one. Everything said about phone mounts applies more here, not less. A rigid arm holding a heavy device will shake, and over time it will loosen.

Mind the door

The door on these machines swings up and into the cab space on many models. Anything mounted on the glass or the front frame has to clear it. Open and close the door with the accessory held in position before you fix it down.

Nothing loose

A cab this small turns a loose tool into a projectile on rough ground. If you carry tools in the cab, they need to be retained, not just set down.
