Every fitment claim carries its evidence

We never write that a part fits a machine without recording how we know. Each claim carries a grade, a source, and the date we read that source. The grades run from a manufacturer listing the part for the machine, down to a generic accessory that merely might work.

The word fits, with no qualifier, is reserved for the strongest grades. Below those we say what we actually have, such as that the seller lists this machine, or that the part matches an interface the machine is reported to have.

We would rather show nothing than show a guess

If we have not verified anything in a category for a machine, that section stays empty and says so. We do not fill it with a product from the same category, and we do not substitute a near match.

This is the rule we break least. An empty section tells you we do not know. A confident guess tells you nothing and costs you a return.

We do not publish data that goes stale

We do not store or display prices, star ratings, review counts, stock levels or shipping estimates. Those change without telling us, and a cached copy of one is a false statement on a page.

What we publish instead is the reasoning, which does not go stale in the same way, and we send you to the seller for anything that changes daily.

We do not publish a page just because we can generate one

A page combining a make, a model and a category is only worth having if it says something you could not get from a search box. Ours have to carry either verified picks for that exact machine or verified facts about that machine that change what fits.

Pages that do not clear that bar still work if you land on them, but we do not ask search engines to index them.

Safety-critical parts are not accessory purchases

We never recommend anything that modifies a certified protective structure, an occupant restraint, a primary control, a guard, or a safety interlock. We do not publish drilling templates for roll bars. We do not treat a canopy as protection.

The principle we work to is simple. If a part fails, the result should be inconvenience, never danger.

Commission does not influence what we say

Some links pay us. That never decides what we say fits, and it never decides which seller we suggest checking first. For discontinued parts the honest answer is often the used market, which pays less than a new sale would, and we say so anyway.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, tell us at support@fitmymachine.com and we will fix it and update the date on the page. If a source we relied on has changed, we would like to know that too.
