Why the factory cup holder does not hold your bottle
Most factory holders were sized for a soda can. Here is what to measure, and what the options are.

Measure the bottle, not the holder
Insulated bottles are wider and much taller than a can. A holder that is deep enough for a can holds a tall bottle by about an inch of its base, which is not enough on uneven ground.
Measure the widest part of the bottle you actually carry, and measure how far up it you need support. Then compare those two numbers to the holder, not the other way round.
Three ways to fix it
There are really only three approaches, and they suit different machines.
- A drop-in insert that sits in the factory recess and adds depth. Simplest option when the factory hole is roughly the right diameter.
- A clamp-on holder on the roll bar. Works on open-station machines and puts the drink where you can reach it. Needs the roll bar measurements.
- A panel or magnet mount. Best in a cab, where there is no roll bar and there is usually a flat surface.
Watch what it fouls
A full bottle is tall. Hold it in place and work every control through its full travel before you commit to a spot. A holder that catches a loader lever or the lap bar is worse than no holder.
